The General Managers House was built for the mine manger in 1948 and is one of the two remaining cottages from the early days of Glen Davis on the property. They are equipped with wood combustion fires and the kitchen is of a modern construction as as such has all the necessities to ensure you enjoy your stay here. There are four bedrooms with one room with double bed and the remainder have twin single beds. Two bathrooms and an outdoor barbeque area will provide a welcome relief after a days hiking, bird watching or simply wandering thorough the thousands of relics from the old Shale processing works. Some of the paintings inside indicate a lot of people come here in groups to capture the tonal sparks that keep the sandstone cliffs a constant fascination. If you are tempted to climb any of these cliffs like I often do be careful how you plan and remember how to get down without a terminal dive. Unfortunately the presence of numerous birds and challenging climbs and walks make this place addictive.
